only to find out the boys refused to do one this year and am having all sorts of problems trying to get my money refunded

where did you order it from? I ordered mi ne from Amazon but they didn't charge me, they usually charge the money when they send them out. I got an email to say the calendar was cancelled and so they were cancelling my order, and wouldn't be charging me anything. Whoever yours is with, tell them you have a legal right to a refund as there is no product to pay for.

banks always ignore emails, you need to phone them, and demand a refund. be confident and don't take no for an answer
