well i've heard now, that they are going to end their tour in Croke Park, i mean so many rumours, but thats the last thing they want to achieve, so as its 10th year, I think after Croke Park, they'll have their break for a year, I'm going off for a bit, can't get my head round it

I'm sure they will as they love being in Westlife - and there is no reason why they can't continue singing and spending time with their families. We will just have to let them know when we see them on tour how much we love them. Show them the fans will still be waiting.

I have just seen it on another site. As much as I still want them to be around... I do think they will come back after the break and be refreshed. It is much better to do it that way, as opposed to carrying on and then start to hate what they are doing.
Westlife are not like other bands who don't get on and split up, which is why I think they will be back.

omg im in tears now, but to be honest ive been waiting for something like this to happen. they really do deserve it tho, they have been working very hard for the last 10 years. and i totally understand that they want time with their family and live their own lives outside of westlife. but im still very sad and i think i will be for the next couple of hours or even days. now i know for sure that im deff going to croke park, wouldnt miss it for the world. and somehow i just realised that they ar enot coming to norway on this tour either

I heard that they're gonna be doing the world tour first, THEN they'll take a year off. I do understand why they do it, because they haven't really had THAT much time off each year since they started out. And they're a very hard working band so that way, I do understand. But this week has been so sad, what with the news I received about my relative who died following a severe car crash, and now this. They have to come back. They will be back, right?

yep then will be back i think everyone is worryin over nothin me self i undertsand but its westlife and there unbreakable and also why are then goin to give this all up yet there not we have a lot to look farward to the Cd and the world tour so lets leave this for know and lets bring on tour and that
Irish pop group Westlife broke millions of young hearts today by announcing they are going to take a break for a year.
The four members - Shane Filan, Nicky Byrne, Kian Egan and Mark Feehily - will go their separate ways for 12 months after touring with their latest album Back Home.
The record-breaking band, who have had 14 number one singles, have been at the top of their game for nine years now and feel it is time to take a break from recording and touring.
But Kian Egan promised fans this did not mean the end for the chart-topping group.
In an interview with the Sun he said: "The minute people hear we're taking a break, they are going to say we are splitting up for good - which is not true.
"Myself and Jodi are going to go and do some travelling and I'm sure the other guys have plans as well.
"It will be the first time in years that there hasn't been a Westlife album vying for the Christmas number one, which will be a bit weird, but I think we have earned the time off."
Kian said he and Jodi planned to hire a camper van and tour Australia, while Nicky and Shane will use the break to spend more time with their families.
Sligo-born Shane has one daughter, Nicole, with wife Gillian, while Nicky Bryne's wife Georgina Ahern gave birth to twin boys earlier this year.
Westlife formed in 1998 and have sold more than 36m albums worldwide, as well as winning numerous awards including Record of the Year four times.
Next month they release the new album while a new single, Home, a cover of the Michael Buble song, is due for release on October 26.
Kian said the band was proud of their new work and looking forward to the album release.
He said a world tour would follow and then the band would break up for a year.
But he insisted they would be back.
"We love Westlife and people still want to hear us, so we are not going anywhere.
"Why would we give that up?"
